Terms and Conditions

  1. Booking a course means that you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
  2. You must be over 13 to attend a class or have prior permission for younger attendees. Please call us to discuss.
  3. By clicking on “Book now” on the website you are making a provisional booking.
  4. A place is confirmed only when full payment has been received within 7 days of the provisional booking and a confirmation receipt has been sent.
  5. Bespoke bookings will incur a 50% cancellation fee, please see our Cancellation Policy. 
  6. We will take good care of you but we do not accept any liability for any injury incurred or losses you suffer as a result of you attending the cookery school.

This does not include or limit in any way our liability:

  • For death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • Under section 2(3) of the Consumer Protection Act 1987
  • For fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • For any matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude, or attempt to exclude, our liability.
  1. Dancing Trousers Cookery School does not accept any liability for damage to, or loss of property from your car whilst parked on our premises or in the village of Broughton Poggs.
  2. Aprons are provided but please wear appropriate clothing (not long floppy sleeves for example) we will not be liable for damage to your clothing. Please wear closed toe shoes (preferably leather) with flat, non-slip soles. We cannot let you join a course if you have inappropriate footwear.
  3. Long hair must be tied back. You will be given a briefing on health and safety in the kitchen prior to the course commencing.
  4. Our courses are hands-on and involve heat and normal kitchen equipment. All participants are expected to listen carefully and obey instructions given. Inevitably there is a risk of accidents occurring. We expect you to take all reasonable care in the kitchen to avoid this happening.
  5. We cannot accommodate special dietary requirements on the courses unless you are booking all the places. Please call us to discuss this before booking a course.
  6. Many ingredients use nuts or nut derivatives. We cannot guarantee that you will not be exposed to nuts at Dancing Trousers Cookery School.
  7. Please note that I own two cats. If you are allergic to cats and you book a course, you do so at your own risk.
  8. Course menus may be changed at short notice due to the availability of ingredients or if a course runs at less than full capacity.
  9. You must advise us at the time of booking if you have any medical requirements, learning difficulties or allergies.
  10. If you are an Epipen user, you must bring it with you on the course. Failure to do so, may result in you not being able to participate.
  11. Prices are subject to change at any time, but won’t affect bookings that have already been paid for and confirmed.
  12. We retain full copyright and all intellectual property developed by Dancing Trousers Cookery School. You are provided with the recipe sheets for personal use only. No reproduction of these recipes is permitted.


  1. In the unlikely event of a course being cancelled or postponed by Dancing Trousers Cookery School, we will provide a suitable alternative course within a reasonable period of time or make a full refund to you.
  2. Once a booking has been paid for it cannot be refunded (other than as described in point 1 above) however if your circumstances change and you can no longer make that date, the following options are available:
  • 30 days or more notice prior to the date the course runs, we can transfer your booking onto another course of your choice of the same value.
  • Less than 30 days notice prior to the date the course runs, you are welcome to send someone in your place. You must notify us of the change please. If this is not possible your booking becomes void, no refund can be made and we cannot place you on another course.
  1. If a bespoke booking is cancelled or postponed with less than 30 days notice, we retain 50% of the fee paid to offset the costs we will incur. 
  2. If there are fewer attendees than originally booked on a bespoke course, their places are not refundable.
  3. If a customer fails to attend an event for any reason, or gives less than 30 days' notice of non-attendance, they are not eligible for any refund or transfer.
  4. These terms and conditions apply in all circumstances even if you are unable to attend due to sickness, injury, transport problems, bad weather or other inconveniences. 

Gift Vouchers

  1. Gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase (Christmas vouchers are all made valid to the end of June the following year to allow purchase ahead of time). Courses must be taken by the 'valid until' date. We recommend the recipient explores our website as soon as possible to find a suitable course and books it straight away to avoid disappointment.
  2. Entirely at our discretion, we may extend a voucher for a maximum of 3 months from the end of its validity period. There is a charge of £25 to do this and vouchers are only extended once.
  3. Gift vouchers are not redeemable for cash.
  4. Gift vouchers are not refundable in any circumstances but are transferrable to another person; please inform us of the transfer in advance of a course booking.
  5. Any balance left over can be put towards another course or used to purchase cookery equipment from the range we stock.
  6. Bookings made with gift vouchers do not qualify for discounts and we do not take gift vouchers as payment for our Last Minute Offer deals. 
  7. Once you have booked on a course using your voucher, our usual 30 day cancellation policy applies (see above).
  8. These terms and conditions apply in all circumstances even if you are unable to attend due to sickness, injury, transport problems, bad weather or other inconveniences. 

Privacy Policy

By using our website or providing us with your personal information you are agreeing to this Policy. We may update this Policy from time to time without notice to you, so please check it regularly.

What information is collected?

Dancing Trousers Cookery School collects personal information that you provide to us for a nominated purpose. This information may include, but not be limited to, name, home or business address, telephone numbers, email address.

Fees are processed directly through the BACS system and Dancing Trousers Cookery School does not have access to, or retain this information.

How does Dancing Trousers Cookery School collect your personal information?

Where possible, Dancing Trousers Cookery School will collect personal information directly from you. This may include a number of ways, such as through our website http://dancingtrousers.co.uk , when you attend a course, or at an event we participate in.

If you are under 18 years of age, you should obtain your parents'/guardians' permission beforehand whenever you provide personal information.

How does Dancing Trousers Cookery School use your data?

Dancing Trousers Cookery School may collect your personal information for a number of purposes, including to:

  • fulfil your product orders or to provide the service or information you have requested;
  • administer your account(s);
  • send you service related communications;
  • manage our competitions (including publishing the names of winners where required);
  • respond to your requests and feedback;
  • analyse and/or improve our services;
  • personalise the way Dancing Trousers content is presented to you online;

Dancing Trousers Cookery School asks for consent* to send you marketing information by email. This means you’ll only hear about the work we do via this communication channel if you have told us it’s OK to contact you in this way.

There may be occasions when it is necessary to use your phone number such as checking you have information for a course, giving directions, or in the event of a problem on the day of the course itself. We never use your phone number for marketing purposes.

Dancing Trousers Cookery School will rely on the concept of Legitimate Interest** to send you marketing information by email to the email address you have provided us. This means that we will send you emails until you tell us you no longer want to receive communication via this channel. All our newsletters offer a simple unsubscribe option.

* Consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous, and kept separate and distinct from other terms and conditions. It must be as easy to withdraw as to give, and can be withdrawn at any time

**Legitimate Interest can be used to process personal data as long as the personal interests of Dancing Trousers Cookery School are not overridden by the individual’s interests and fundamental rights

Our commitment to you

  • We will comply with applicable privacy and data protection laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • We will only process your personal information to supply, improve and manage our services. Any additional or unusual uses of your information will be explained at the point of collection.
  • We will only send you marketing emails if you have permitted us to (and you will be given the opportunity to unsubscribe in each of our emails).
  • We track your use of our services to help us to tailor our content and advertising and to improve our services. We do not use information that identifies you personally.
  • We do not share, trade or sell your information to third parties.
  • We may share or disclose your personal information if we are required to do so by any law or court order.
  • We will take appropriate steps to safeguard your information in accordance with industry standards but please keep in mind that no system can be guaranteed as 100% secure.
  • We will only keep your information for as long as we need it: (i) to provide you with a product/service; (ii) to improve our services; and (iii) for legal and audit purposes.
  • We will not actively collect personal information from under 18s and kindly ask that if you are under 18 you do not give us information about yourself or others without gaining permission from a parent or guardian.
  • We will give you control over the information we hold about you by enabling you to access, update and delete your information in-line with your legal rights.

What if I don’t want you to use my details anymore?

Instructions for unsubscribing from e-mails are included in each e-mail communication we send.

However, in some circumstances there will be a legal reason for us to keep a record such as there being financial information which must be kept for six years.
