If you thought tapas was the preserve of the Spanish, think again! The magnificent city of Venice is famous for many things including cicchetti, small snacks or side dishes typically served in a Bàcaro or wine bar. Tantalising and delicious, these morsels were originally designed to keep drinkers in the bars for longer. Now they are some of the most fashionable food on offer in Venice.

Join Mariella Bliss for this new course where she will teach you to make authentic cicchetti featuring meat, fish, cheese and vegetables sourced locally, or from our specialist Italian supplier. Typical dishes include zucca mantovana, calamari fritti, frittata di radicchio, baccala mantecato con polenta (cod dish) , polpettine (fried meatballs), gamberi e lardo (prawn dish), fritto misto and the most authentic Tiramisu!  

The hands on cookery part of this course finishes at around 1.30pm then you'll sit down (or stand, if you prefer the authentic Bàcaro experience!) to enjoy your tapas with a complimentary glass of prosecco of course.
